This interactive event focused on sharing the latest updates and feature enhancements from Nordic IT, ensuring our community is up-to-date with the most current developments. Attendees gained valuable insights into our strategic roadmap for 2024, setting the stage for what’s in store in the upcoming year.

Updates from Version 1.53 + 1.55

In the first part of our webinar, we dived into the significant advancements brought by Versions 1.53 and 1.55, reflecting our ongoing commitment to streamlining workflows and enhancing the tools our users rely on.

Version 1.53 Highlights:

  • Mail Merge and Template Variables for HTML Editor: We introduced dynamic features to the HTML editor, enabling users to effortlessly integrate and personalize data within their communications. This enhancement allows for more customized and efficient content creation.
  • Activated Webhooks from Rules: With this update, users can trigger external processes by activating webhooks based on specified rules, opening new avenues for automation and seamless system integration.
  • Calendar Improvements: Our calendar tool has been refined for a more intuitive user experience, enhancing scheduling and time management functionalities for better organizational efficiency.

Version 1.55 Enhancements:

  • Clipboard+ in the HTML Editor: Expanding the capabilities of our HTML editor, the Clipboard+ feature supports advanced copy-paste functions, making editing more versatile and fluid.
  • Offline Capabilities for reMARK: We’ve bolstered offline functionality, allowing users to maintain productivity even without an internet connection, ensuring uninterrupted workflow.
  • Support for Shared Calendars: Enhancing team collaboration, support for shared calendars enables more seamless coordination, helping teams in staying aligned and informed.
  • MARKet Data Module in Collaboration with ZeroNorth: In partnership with ZeroNorth, the introduction of the MARKet Data Module delivers rich market insights directly within the platform, empowering users with valuable data for strategic decision-making.

These updates, available as of September 2024, also feature the launch of two new modules—the MARKet Data Module and the IMOS integration—broadening the range of capabilities available to our users. Furthermore, those utilizing the reMARK cloud benefit from automatic upgrades to the latest versions, ensuring they always have access to the newest features and enhancements.

MARKet Data Module Update

For the next portion of the webinar, we reviewed the capabilities of Nordic IT’s new MARKet Data Module, an integration born from our strategic partnership with ZeroNorth.

We highlighted the module’s ability to collect vital positions and cargo information directly from emails. Using a sophisticated parsing engine, the module efficiently extracts valuable data on spot positions and cargo details, automating the process of finding optimal positions. As a result, reMARK users can benefit from a structured view of cargo positions, with the added flexibility to sort and filter information based on various criteria, such as geographical area or specific business needs.

The part of the session also covered how the module facilitates the creation of custom search folders for enhanced management. Participants learned about the comprehensive list of positions and associated emails provided by the module, enabling efficient action on the insights gathered. These features were shared with our audience to illustrate how the module turns email data into strategic assets, enhancing decision-making and operational capabilities.

IMOS VIP Integration

Next, we explored the integration between IMOS and reMARK, another integration that stems from our partnership with Veson Nautical. With this latest integration, users can leverage the integration’s ability to manage vessel and voyage information, transport detailed data from IMOS directly into reMARK.

From there, we shared upcoming features, including the ability to attach port information, like load and discharge ports, directly to folders. This means that whenever an email is filed within these folders, categories for the relevant ports will automatically be added, enriching the contextual detail. We also highlighted the future capability of searching emails based on voyage numbers, providing users with powerful tools to locate and act on specific voyage-related information efficiently.

Version 1.57

We went on to provide a glimpse into the development of Version 1.57, tailored to enhance the functionalities for maritime shipping companies. This version is set to incorporate advanced features in the IMOS integration, enabling users to categorize emails based on voyage and seamlessly insert vessel itineraries into emails.

Attendees learned about reMARK insights that offer market data and gateway support alongside new offline capabilities designed to boost operational efficiency. The release candidate for this version should be available by the end of October 2024.

Future Development of reMARK

Our discussion also ventured into the future development plans for reMARK, with a particular focus on expanding AI functionalities. Building on features introduced in version 1.53, users will be able to leverage Open AI to summarize emails and utilize generative AI for drafting replies directly within the editor window, a feature currently in preview.

For IMOS users, the platform will soon be capable of automatically identifying vessels and ports, learning from filing behaviors to file and sorting new emails autonomously. These advancements are set to further streamline email management processes in maritime operations.

reMARK Web Interface

For the final portion of our webinar, we unveiled plans for a modern web application for reMARK, complementing the existing Windows application and offering users the flexibility to choose their preferred means of using reMARK.

The web interface will utilize the existing backend infrastructure and can operate alongside the current client, ensuring a smooth transition for users. Nordic IT is actively collaborating with customers to define the feature set, aiming for the web interface to be ready sometime in 2025. This development is part of our commitment to providing robust solutions that cater to the needs of maritime shipping companies.
